There are many professional talks given at Syracuse University each year for the faculty and graduate students in the Mathematics Department. In fact, Syracuse University even hosts international Mathematics conferences (such as the Workshop and International Conference on Representations of Algebras )! Almost all research groups in the Mathematics Department at Syracuse University host several talks each semester featuring visiting speakers. The Mathematics Graduate Organization (MGO) hosts several talks each semester given by mathematics graduate students within the department. We highly recommend you attend these talks! This is an excellent opportunity to see what your fellow graduate students are doing and to socialize with your fellow graduate students. Giving a talk for the MGO is a great way to build your resume, practice good mathematical exposition and presentation, but to share mathematics with your fellow students. If you are interested in giving a talk, contact the colloquium organizer using the ‘Contact’ tab above. Each year, the MGO holds a conference for graduate students and other professional mathematicians. This is one of the only mathematics conferences in the country to be organized entirely by graduate students! Below, you can view past conferences and talks given at the MGO colloquium at Syracuse University. When available, notes or slides are attached for those that may not be able to attend the seminar but are interested in the topic.
